At the end of October, Real Rutland held a Fall Photography Contest. We asked anyone who visited our area or lives here and took a photo within Rutland County, Vermont to send us their favorite picture. After voting on the submissions, these are the five favorites.

Steven Goldstein tells us, he took this photo at Lefferts Pond in Chittenden, on October 10, at 4:45 p.m. This location and the Chittenden Reservoir are favorites for photographers, kayakers and paddleboarders, people who fish, and those who need to escape the heat in the summer.

Makayla Mecier was at the right place, at the right time when she captured this “magical moment,” in Poultney at the Lake St. Catherine Country Club.

This photo was taken by Gabrielle Bourassa in Rutland Town. It is not your typical fall photo, but the beginning of autumn in Vermont is always warm and green.

Anne R. Carpenter tells us, this is a photo of the afternoon sun peeking through the maple tree in her front yard in Rutland City. Each year the tree produces beautiful leaves, but it had stunning colors this year!

Our final winning photo was sent to us by Allegra Miccio. She took a photo of her pup crunching the Vermont leaves in Rutland City.

Imagine how many photos you could take like this if you lived here. If you are interested in relocating to Rutland County or are new to the area, connect with us here. We are always excited to help you learn more about our area’s opportunities and welcome new people to the place we call home.
