TOWN OF Clarendon
Clarendon Gorge
Just south of Rutland City, Clarendon, Vermont, is home to the Rutland Southern Vermont Regional Airport and some of the most picturesque swimming holes in the state. The most famous spot is Clarendon Gorge, accessible via a short (1/10 of a mile) section of the Appalachian Trail. After crossing an Indiana Jones-like suspension bridge, you can work your way down the side of the gorge to deep, cool pools of mountain water.
