There's just something about Shrewsbury when it comes to love and nature. Matt Danaher, owner of Danaher Fishery, nurtures thousands of trout every year for release into VT's waterways. The Shrewsbury Sno-Birds, a snowmobile club founded 1971, has a mission to "encourage the preservation of our natural environment." And in 1986, a lovestruck moose spent 2 months courting a Shrewsbury farmer's cow. Though the moose's advances went unrequited, the story lives on in the book "A Moose for Jessica."
