TOWN OF Wallingford

Green Mountain National Forest

With more than half of its land area in the northernmost portion of the Green Mountain National Forest, Wallingford, Vermont, is breathtakingly gorgeous, yet easily accessible. The center of town, just a 15-minute drive from downtown Rutland, features restaurants, bars, and shops (try the pizza at Sal's). Take a hike on the Appalachian Trail as it winds its way over Wallingford's mountains. For a special treat, visit Little Rock Pond in early October when fall foliage is at its peak.
