With a strong patient focus, an outstanding medical staff, and excellent nursing care, Rutland Regional frequently earns top marks in national surveys of healthcare quality.

Rutland Regional was the first hospital in Vermont to receive both the Governor’s Award for Performance Excellence and Magnet Recognition® for quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovation. In 2021, Rutland Regional became one of only a hospital worldwide to have been recognized three times as a Magnet® for nursing excellence. This recognition, from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), demonstrates the hospital’s commitment not only to providing a great work environment for nurses but also to nurse innovation and professionalism and the highest quality of nursing care available.

US News & World Report has recognized Rutland Regional multiple times as a high-performing hospital. Most recently, it named the hospital as high-performing in the following areas of care: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), urology, knee replacement surgery, and hip replacement surgery.

The Joint Commission, the gold standard of healthcare quality surveys, rated Rutland Regional a Top Performer in Key Quality Measures. The Leapfrog Group, the nation’s only survey that focuses solely on safety, honored the hospital with an “A” grade, the only “A” in Vermont. Healthgrades ranks Rutland Regional among the top 10% in the Nation for Outstanding Patient Experience and Patient Safety as well as orthopedic care.
