Ira, VT

Perserving History

The people of Ira are dedicated to preserving the rich history of their town. For over 200 years, residents hosted community gatherings in the Ira Town Hall, which has stood since 1800. By the 1990’s, however, it was crumbling away. Rather than lose their beloved landmark, townsfolk called in the US Army. With the help of Army and a national grant, the Ira Town Hall was restored to its former glory and remains to this day a gathering place for the hardworking citizens of this Vermont town.
